Danish Shipping Groups in Zero Emissions Fuel Production Project

Six Danish groups – including Maersk and DFDS, are behind a project which aims to see green hydrogen deliver 250,000 tonnes of fuel each year by 2030.

The coalition marks the shipping industry’s direct involvement in the development of zero emission fuels. Once fully scaled up, annual carbon emissions could be cut by 850,000 tonnes.

A new 2 gigawatt (GW) offshore wind farm project which has recently been approved by the Danish government is central to delivering the green hydrogen.
