About Hashim Shekhuna
Hashim Shekhuna is a founding partner of the firm. Prior to establishing Mohammed Al Ruqaishi Law Firm, Mr Shekhuna was a lawyer in the corporate/commercial department of a leading law firm in the Sultanate of Oman.
Mr Shekhuna is a British Legal Advisor. He has extensive experience in assisting overseas entities with setting up their operations in the Sultanate of Oman. He leads on company formation matters, company secretarial functions and holding of general meetings. He advises numerous listed and other joint stock companies on a variety of corporate governance and regulatory compliance matters and corporate clients generally on corporate structuring matters.
He advises on the laws, regulatory framework and administrative procedures on investment in Oman, the structure of business entities, incorporation of different commercial vehicles, licensing and permitting issues, employment, immigration, tax and customs issues. He has extensive experience of advising clients on labour and immigration matters.
Mr Shekhuna has extensive experience in drafting a range of commercial agreements including shareholders agreements, share transfers, commercial mortgages, agreements in relation to intellectual property and copyrights, joint ventures, agency and distribution agreements. He also advises on local and international commercial arbitration.
Mr Shekhuna is a member of the Law Society of England & Wales and was admitted as a Solicitor in December 2008. He obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Law from the University of London and a Masters in Law from King’s College London. He is a member of the Omani British Lawyers Association.
