WellGear is geared up for workforce growth

Hugh Fraser was delighted to meet up with Jason Watt leading WellGear’s Middle East region activity at their facility in Abu Dhabi recently.

Formed in 2015 by CEO Sigo Tjeerdsma, The WellGear Group provides a full range of high-quality services for both onshore & offshore to the international oil & gas, petrochemical and geothermal industries. Headquartered in the Netherlands and operating globally with offices in the United Kingdom, Continental Europe, Africa, USA and Australia, WellGear provides hydraulic workover, snubbing & plug & abandon services.

P&A and well workovers are roughly 60-40% of the business, with geothermal a rising growth area.

A raft of new contracts, including three signed in the UK recently, are expected to help energy services firm WellGear globally double in size over the next two years. Projects in UK and Europe are being strengthened by new facilities at its main base in Holland, and a new facility in Australia, alongside another potentially crucial new market in the Middle East where WellGear is agreeing final terms with four different operators.

HFI’s Abu Dhabi Ventures Initiative (ADVI) supports clients to address key challenges including 100% foreign ownership laws, local partner agreements, technology licences, manufacturing facilities contracts, corporate taxation, ICV procurement policies and Emiratisation regulations.

If any further detailed information or advice is needed on any of the issues raised in our ADVI eGuidebook, we will be pleased to advise accordingly.  Please contact sally.reeves@hfi-consulting.com for more detailed information or to arrange a call with Hugh Fraser.
