Net Zero Technology Centre expands into UAE with Euro Mechanical Partnership
HFI wishes to congratulate Net Zero Technology Centre (NZTC) on the signing of its new exclusive partnership agreement with Euro Mechanical in the UAE. It has been a pleasure to support NZTC and to work with Myrtle Dawes, Nicola McIntosh, FCMA, Roy Stenhouse and other senior members to chart their expansion in the Middle East. We wish the NZTC team every success with this new venture.
The collaboration will leverage the combined expertise of NZTC and Euro Mechanical to support asset operators and owners in their journey towards decarbonisation and the adoption of innovative energy solutions. The partnership is expected to contribute significantly to sustainability efforts of the UAE.
NZTC has stated that “the announcement follows a period of considerable growth for NZTC in the UAE and is the first step in establishing a local presence. Over the past two years, the organisation has delivered services including Technology Due Diligence, Open Innovation Competitions, and Horizon Scanning. NZTC has been instrumental in helping clients identify promising technologies and make informed investment decisions, unlocking significant potential for emissions reduction. These services will continue to form part of NZTC’s core offering in the UAE, helping businesses and industries in region meet their net-zero goals.”
NZTC was created as part of the Aberdeen City Region Deal, with £180million of UK and Scottish government funding to maximise the potential of the North Sea. To date NZTC have co-invested £430million in technologies which have the potential to generate £10-15 billion in gross value added (GVA) to the Scottish economy, screened over 3135+ technologies, completed or progressed 159 field trials, commercialised 50 technologies and supported 69 tech start-ups.
