India Energy Leadership Summit 2023 in Delhi showcases India’s commitment to energy independence, affordability and transition.

Puranik & Fraser International were represented at #ETEnergyLeadership by Mukund Puranik and Hugh Fraser, hosted by Energy Times of India. Special guest at the conference was R K Singh, Minister of Power/Minister of New and Renewable Energy.

The conference focused on three key themes: the goal of 500GW of renewable energy in the country’s entire energy mix by 2030; India becoming energy independent by 2047 to coincide with 100 years of independence; and achieving net zero by 2070 as committed at COP26. The country will need US$363 billion of investments in new power projects and batteries by 2030, opening up vast opportunities for international investors.

Key speakers included Balawant Joshi of Idam Infrastructure Advisory Private Limited, energy and infrastructure experts, who presented “Renewable Energy Juggernaut – Implications for the States” in which he highlighted the solar and wind potential concentrated in Karnatakacan 73%, Rajasthan 45%, Gujarat 38%, Maharashtra 30%. the Indian Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) has also developed a strategy and roadmap for the installation of offshore wind projects off the coast of Gujarat and Tamil Nadu.
