HFI’s “The Roadmap to Successful Ventures in the Middle East” - World Future Energy Summit 2025 Edition
HFI was delighted to introduce the World Future Energy Summit 2025 edition of HFI’s “The Roadmap to Successful Ventures in the Middle East”. The Roadmap captures over 20 years’ experience of lessons learned from supporting clients in their Middle East ventures and is regularly updated to track lessons learned from projects and transactions. We are delighted to feature a look-back on highlight news from 2024 from some HFI’s clients and connections in this edition.
There is now a US$3 trillion global spend in the energy sector with US$750 billion projected in the GCC in the period to 2030 and this is a huge opportunity for the supply chain. Two thirds of that global spend is taking place in the clean energy and energy transition sector including solar pv, wind, nuclear, EV, heat pumps, hydrogen and CCUS, with one third in gas, oil and coal. The energy transition is gaining pace.
The main constraints are the ongoing BRICS/G7 geo-political fragmentation with the accompanying challenges with sanctions and tariffs, security concerns with some territories, tight margins and cash flows and skilled manpower resourcing constraints.
The keys to ongoing cross-border collaboration success are to bring innovative technologies and know-how solutions and effective local partner ventures structured for win/win results on a territory by territory basis.
HFI is keen to play a key role in supporting clients’ business growth opportunities in the Middle East energy transition – routes to growth include acquisitions, local partner ventures, in region group structures, technology supply and technical services contracts (TSTSCs) and in-region manufacturing ventures (IMVs), with advanced energy technology licensing and local manufacturing, procurement, employment and training being a growing policy objective in Saudi Arabia, the UAE and Oman.
The next major landmark in the region is the World Future Energy Summit 2025 in Abu Dhabi on 14–16 January and in Saudi the iktva Community Forum and Exhibition on 13–14 January. HFI will be delighted to meet up with clients and connections at either of these upcoming events.
