HFI gears up for massive solar power expansion in Middle East, India and Africa
Hugh Fraser International has set our sights on the rapidly expanding solar energy sector in the Middle East, India and Africa highlighted at Middle East Energy 2023 conference and exhibition in Dubai and in the Global Market Outlook for Solar Power 2022 – 2026 Report.
The Middle East is set to become a market leader in renewable energy. Up to 90GW of renewable energy capacity, mainly solar and wind power, is planned across the MENA region over the next 10- 20 years. Renewable energy will account for 34% of total power sector investments across the MENA region over the next five years. Major growth is also happening in India and Africa.
Key themes explored at the Intersolar Conference at Middle East Energy 2023 included green hydrogen technologies, energy storage, grid integration, supply chain challenges and solutions. The Strategic Conference included a panel discussion on ‘Hybridisation of renewable energy’ combining solar and windpower to increase network stability, security, reduce emissions, and lower cost of electricity. The panellists included Gianni Chianetta, CEO of the Global Solar Council.
