EIC (Energy Industries Council) EIC’s Business Breakfast with Worley highlights Qatar’s US$Q66bn energy project

As we speed towards the start of COP28, HFI is pleased to attend the Energy Industries Council (EIC) "Business Breakfast" in Qatar represented by Hugh Fraser. This event highlighted Worley – Qatar and their current projects and opportunities for engagement. Worley is a leading global provider of professional services in the energy, chemicals and resources sectors.

The energy market in Qatar is vibrant at the moment and the EIC DataStream project database is tracking 29 projects with a value of US$65.7 billion for the period 2023 - 2030 as follows:-

Oil & Gas (upstream, midstream and downstream) – US$62billion - 23 projects;

Power and transmission/distribution – US$3 billion 1 project; and

Energy Transition (renewables, hydrogen, CCS, energy storage) – US$700 million – 5 projects.

The Qatar energy market is dominated by the massive US$50 billion LNG North Field expansion project which will raise LNG production from 77 million tonnes per annum to 126 million tonnes per annum by 2030.

An integral part of the NFE project will be carbon capture and storage and Qatar is aiming to capture over 11m tonnes per annum by 2035. The increasing role of CCS in the global energy transition challenge is hightlighted in the latest Global CCS Institute 2023 report. https://lnkd.in/dd9MSZ3f

This is an excellent opportunity to meet up with HFI’s clients and connections in Qatar for our QATVI - Qatar Ventures Initiative.
