Decarbonisation and Digitalisation dominant themes at ADIPEC 2023 with ‘bow wave’ of energy projects to 2030 in MENA

Day 2 at ADIPEC Exhibition and Conference 2023 provided further evidence of the ‘bow wave’ of energy projects coming at the MENA region in the period to 2030. Rystad Energy expects capex in the region to exceed US$738bn in upstream oil and gas in the 8-year period, with Saudi Arabia leading the way at US$234bn and the UAE at US$81bn. Iraq, Qatar, Kuwait and Oman will also offer significant capex opportunities.

The key themes at ADIPEC are very much ‘Decarbonisation and Digitalisation’ and the EIC (Energy Industries Council) is also tracking significant energy transition capex coming up in the MENA region: there is an abundance of technical presentations happening on energy storage, carbon capture, hydrogen and geothermal. However, petroleum expenditure and with it revenues opportunities, will continue to dominate in the region.

We were delighted to host our legal partner in Saudi Arabia, Dr. Bader Al Busaiyes, from Al Khobar at the HFI stand, OGV Energy Pavilion Hall 14-380 on Tuesday for further discussions on ramping up our SAVI - Saudi Arabia Ventures Initiative - SAVI.

We are very much looking forward to catching up with HFI’s trusted local partners in Abu Dhabi, @Rashid Al Shukeili of Leaders Oilfield Equipment L.L.C. and Khalid Al Qubaisi of Al Yaseah OGISS L.L.C. on Day 3.

A big thank you to all the clients and connections who took the time to pass by our stand on Tuesday.
