COP28 – Scottish Companies Rise to the Net-Zero Challenge

The GlobalScot network in the Middle East was called upon to support 19 companies exhibiting as part of the COP28 event in Dubai. The cohort was presenting a range of energy transition technologies with hydrogen, carbon capture, energy storage and tidal power applications. It was a pleasure to meet with some of the companies as part of the week.

Following on from an excellent panel discussion at Heriot-Watt University to discuss “Energy Transition in the UAE and Scotland”, we were pleased to meet with Beena Sharma, CEO with CCU International- https://ccu.international/.   The company’s carbon capture technology captures CO2 directly from flue, exhausts and chimney stacks, ensuring the CO2 is captured before it can enter the atmosphere.  Captured CO2 instead of just being stored can then be utilised in the circular economy to create a range of products that would be traditionally use virgin CO2.  CCU International provides several downstream technologies that recycle the captured CO2 to provide aggregate products for construction, synthetic diesel, synthetic aviation fuel, commodity chemicals, surfactants, manufacture of plastics, medical usage and food and carbonated drinks.

By bringing together the best of satellite communications with the best of cellular technology, Krucial CONNECT gives resilient communications infrastructure.
