Ashtead Technology showcases cutting edge subsea capability in Abu Dhabi
HFI was delighted to attend today's Technology & Supplier showcase held in Abu Dhabi, a leading EIC (Energy Industries Council) member company. It was a great opportunity to see in-water technology demonstrations, hear about the latest trends shaping the industry and meet with experts from industry-leading suppliers including Sonardyne International Ltd, NORBIT Subsea, Nortek, Maritime Robotics AS, EdgeTech Marine and ACE Winches.
Ashtead Technology experts were available from across their three service lines (survey & robotics, mechanical solutions and asset integrity) to showcase the depth and breadth of their offering and the value they can bring to support customers’ offshore energy projects.
It was great to see Ashtead's expansion in the Middle East with the ACE Winches acquisition in November 2023. Established in 1992, ACE Winches is a market-leader in the design, manufacture and hire of lifting, pulling and deployment solutions. The company’s core offering supports the installation, inspection, maintenance & repair and decommissioning of offshore energy infrastructure which is highly complementary to Ashtead Technology’s existing equipment and services portfolio.
ACE Winches was Ashtead Technology’s eighth acquisition in the last six years and follows the Group’s acquisitions of Aberdeenshire-based businesses WeSubsea UK Limited and Hiretech in 2022.
Following on from last week’s Subsea Expo exhibition and conference hosted by the Global Underwater Hub in Aberdeen and this week's Subsea Tieback Forum 2024 in San Antonio, the subsea sector will move forward to Oceanology 2024 in London on 12–14 March and Australia Oil & Gas 2024 on 13–15 March in Perth.
Later on this week, HFI will be launching the latest e-Guidebook for our ADVI - Abu Dhabi Ventures Initiative which supports advanced petroleum technology and energy transition technology ventures in the UAE, supporting clients to address key challenges including 100% foreign ownership laws, local partner agreements, technology licences, manufacturing facilities contracts, corporate taxation, ICV procurement policies and Emiratisation regulations. The latest edition of the e-Guidebook will update on new developments and lessons learned from ventures implemented over the last 12 months and the increasing use of the UAE as a hub for the Middle East and Asia Pacific operations of subsea technology companies.
