ADNOC’s gas masterplan seeks to play a significant role in the UAE’s energy sufficiency

ADNOC’s gas masterplan seeks to play a significant role in the UAE’s energy sufficiency and to support international energy security including through the expansion of ADNOC’s liquiefied natural gas (LNG) capacity.

The plan includes the application of innovation and technologies to enable increased and competitive gas recovery from existing fields, developing untapped resources and driving emissions reduction.

Production from ADNOC’s massive Ghasha concession is due around 2025, ramping up to 1.5 billion scfd of natural gas by 2030. Four artificial islands have already been completed and development drilling is underway by ADNOC Drilling. The leading international technology partner on the project is Italy’s ENI. ENI transformed Egypt’s deepwater gas sector with the discovery and development of the massive Zohr field.

The scale of opportunities with ANOC is shaping Hugh Fraser International’s Abu Dhabi Ventures Initiative and ADVI’s expansion is a key objective heading into ONS2022, GASTECH 2022 and ADIPEC 2022.
