Hugh Fraser was honoured to be appointed as a Global Ambassador for EIC (Energy Industries Council) at EIC Connect in Abu Dhabi as the Middle East continues to be a key growth market and HFI much enjoyed catching up with clients and connections at the Energy Exports Conference in Aberdeen last week and at Global Offshore Wind in Manchester this week. 

The EIC (Energy Industries Council) (EIC) DataStream project database is now tracking 490 energy projects in the GCC with a total value of US$722 billion for the period to 2030. HFI’s Roadmap to Successful Ventures in the Middle East was published earlier this month, capturing over 20 years’ experience of lessons learned from supporting clients in their Middle East ventures. 

Q2 of 2024 has been dominated by three key markets: Saudi Arabia, the UAE and Oman, with the UAE hosting the Make it in the Emirates Forum in Abu Dhabi last month. Our eGuideBooks for these territories have all been updated in recent weeks.

HFI extends our warm congratulations to owner Bruce McGarian of Aberdeen based McGarian TDC, a firm specialising in the design of whipstocks, casing & packer milling, fishing & remedial products – on the successful sale of the company to Norway’s Odfjell Technology. It was a pleasure to support McGarian TDC’s collaboration venture for the Saudi market no doubt McGarian’s technology will accelerate into Saudi with Odfjell’s backing.  

Local Partner Ventures (LPVs) play a key role in successful business expansion in the MENA region, and HFI was delighted to update our Establishing, Restructuring and Exiting Local Partner Ventures in the MENA Region eGuidebook draws on HFI’s extensive experience and expertise in establishing, restructuring and exiting LPVs.
