Spotlight on Egypt and the East Mediterranean as COP27 forum hosted at Gulf of Suez

Egypt will be in the spotlight between 6 and 18 November, hosting COP27 at the Gulf of Suez.

Later in the month the 8th Egypt Oil and Gas Convention hosted by Mohammad Fouad’s EgyptOil-Gas will focus on the next phase of Egypt’s energy strategy. Energy Minister, Tarek El Molla will be presenting on the Egypt Government’s plans.

Deepwater Mediterranean and Nile Delta gas investment led by ENI and BP have transformed the energy sector, and the Cairo-based East Mediterranean Gas Forum (EMGF) is growing in influence.   

The Siemens-built gas power plant at Beni Suef has resolved the electricity supply concerns which dogged the country in the 2010s and major Egypt is expected to become a major solar/green hydrogen producer over the next decade.
